Two Detroit Lakes women hospitalized after crash at Waubun intersection
WAUBUN, Minn. — A two-car crash at a highway intersection here injured two women Saturday, May 27, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash happened about 12:15 p.m. at U.S. Highway 59 and Minnesota Highway 113.
Wyatt Pugh, 21, of South St. Paul, Minn., was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Impala east on Highway 113 when he failed to yield to a 1998 Ford Taurus headed north on Highway 59, the patrol said.
The Impala struck the Taurus in the left rear corner, causing the Taurus to spin out and hit a stop sign and a traffic hazard light, the patrol said.
The Taurus driver, 54-year-old Nora Littlewolf, and her passenger, 28-year-old Ashley Listul, both of Detroit Lakes, were treated at Mahnomen Hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, the patrol said.
Pugh and his passenger were not hurt. All four motorists were wearing seat belts, the patrol said. It's unclear whether anyone was cited in the crash.
