Motorcyclist identified in fatal crash in Grand Forks

GRAND FORKS -- Grand Forks police have released the name of the a 29-year-old Minnesota man who died Thursday, Aug. 24, after being thrown from his motorcycle in a two-vehicle collision in south Grand Forks.

Anthony James Lossing of Bemidji, Minn., was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on 32nd Avenue South about 6:15 p.m., according to a police statement. While entering the intersection with South 34th Street, he struck the side of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Marcus Lee, 28, of Grand Forks. Lossing was transported to Altru Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say Lossing appeared to disregard a traffic signal at the intersection and did not appear to have been wearing a helmet.

The accident was still under investigation Friday.
