Fargo Cass Public Health announces community-wide NARCAN training
FARGO — Fargo Cass Public Health (FCPH) will host a community-wide NARCAN training at noon Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Fargo Cass Public Health, 1240 25th St. S.
Those attending will receive training on how to administer NARCAN and provide rescue breaths, which could potentially save someone's life. Additional community-wide trainings will take place in the coming months at FCPH.
The training is sponsored by the State Targeted Response to the Opioid Crisis grant through the North Dakota Department of Human Services Behavioral Health Division. The placement of NARCAN, a drug that reverses an opioid overdose, throughout the community is part of a preventative local response to the opioid crisis.
There have been five overdose deaths to date in Cass County this year, according to the Cass County Coroner. There were 17 overdose deaths last year and 31 in 2016.
Registration is required for the free training. To register, email email@example.com, or call Melissa at 701-476-4083.
