Firefighters extinguish Thanksgiving apartment fire in Fargo
FARGO — Fargo firefighters were able to quickly put out a Thanksgiving Day fire in the kitchen of a southside apartment.
There were no injuries in the fire at 3320 17th Ave. S., according to the Fargo Fire Department.
The fire was reported about 6:54 p.m. When fire crews arrived on the scene, they found residents of the apartment building standing outside.
There was smoke in the second-floor hallway. And in a second-floor apartment, firefighters were met with heavy smoke and heat, the fire department said.
A fire in the kitchen and laundry area of the apartment was quickly extinguished. The fire was contained to the apartment where it started, the fire department said.
Fire crews vented smoke from the building and monitored the air quality before allowing residents back into the building.
The residents of the apartment were not home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, the fire department said.
