Menahga woman seriously injured when her car hit a tree
MENAHGA, Minn. - A Menahga woman suffered life-threatening injuries when the car she was driving went off the road and hit a tree Wednesday evening, Jan. 31, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.
Jeanette Marie Karkinen, 59, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Spark southbound on Highway 71 near 384th Street about 4:56 p.m. when the car went off the road, into the ditch, and hit a tree, the Patrol reported.
Karkinen was take to CHI St. Joseph's Health in Park Rapids, Minn., for treatment, the report said.
Alcohol was a factor in the crash, the report said.
