Man dies after vehicle submerges in lake near Sanborn, ND

A dive team is on the scene at Hobart Lake after a vehicle left the roadway and submerged on Monday, June 4.

SANBORN, N.D. -- A 64-year-old Sanborn man has died as the result of injuries after his vehicle went off the road and submerged into Hobart Lake on Monday, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.

Terry Swenson was driving westbound on Barnes County Road 22 about three miles east of Sanborn about 8:25 a.m. when his vehicle left the roadway on the right side. A dive team from Valley City rescued the Swenson, who was transported to Mercy Health in Valley City. Swenson died Tuesday morning, the Highway Patrol said.

Sanborn is about 12 miles west of Valley City.
