Surveillance video capture

MOORHEAD - A man here has turned himself in after robbing a Tesoro gas station at gunpoint early Thursday on Wahpeton's north side, according to Moorhead police.

About 2:30 a.m. Thursday, a robber armed with a handgun took an undetermined amount of cash from the gas station before fleeing north in a vehicle, authorities said.

Shortly before 9 p.m. the same day, Moorhead police were called to the Grand Inn Motel, 810 Belsly Blvd., to talk with a man who said he committed the robbery, Moorhead police said.

Andres Olveda, 31, of Moorhead gave officers a detailed account of the holdup. Officers determined that evidence corroborated his story, and they arrested him, police said.

Olveda was being held at the Clay County Jail.
