Minnesota woman arrested for heroin possession after traffic stop

MOTLEY—A traffic stop resulted in the seizure of heroin and the arrest of a 34-year-old Red Lake woman Saturday in Morrison County.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported at 5:47 p.m. Saturday, a deputy was patrolling the city of Motley and observed a traffic violation. A traffic stop was conducted on a white Chevrolet Impala near the intersection of highways 210 and 64.

The deputy observed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle, according to the release. During a search of the vehicle, suspected heroin was located.

In the release, Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen stated the deputy utilized his drug interdiction training and in this particular case, approximately 9 grams of heroin was seized from the vehicle.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Minnesota State Patrol The woman is being held in the Morrison County Jail pending formal drug possession charges.
