FARGO — The Fargo Park District approved spending $1.3 million on purchasing the Seasons at Rose Creek.

Board members considered the purchase of the privately owned restaurant and wedding venue located at 1500 Rose Creek Parkway E. during the board's Tuesday, Feb. 13 meeting.

Executive Director Joel Vettel said members unanimously approved the purchase after park district finance director Jim Larson gave a presentation outlining the sale.

Vettel said moving forward it will take a minimum of 30 days to close on the sale of the building and for ownership to transfer to the park district from Earlyne Hector, who closed the restaurant about two years ago after it opened in the early 1990s.

The park district was previously renting the clubhouse for $42,000 per year, he said, plus an additional $4,800 for the grill to run the lower-level golf shop with concessions.

Hector still owns the liquor license, Vettel said, so the district will continue working with her to provide food and beverage services this upcoming season until a long-term solution is made.

The board expressed desire to establish a permanent clubhouse with a restaurant once the right partnerships are formed.
