West Fargo student charged after having Xanax, $1,300 in cash
WEST FARGO – A student here was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and ingesting a controlled substance after school officials said he was acting oddly.
Alex D. Hirn, 18, was arrested by a school resource officer at West Fargo High School on Tuesday, May 17, after teachers and a principal told the officer he was acting "as if he was drunk," court documents say.
Hirn was taken to the principal's office, where the officer searched him and found $1,310 and a bag with 10 pills of Xanax.
The documents say Hirn told the officer he liked to take Xanax and was an addict.
Possession of a controlled substance is a Class B felony and carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
Hirn has previous charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
