FARGO—An upcycled tie store has closed its doors, but the business is only shifting online, not closing for good.

Ashley Dedin opened AENDEE, 5 8th St. S., in July 2013. Business has boomed in the years since, and she said she's always done well in the leased storefront.

But in the last few months, she said she knew she needed to make a change, both for herself and her business as more of the orders for ties, bow ties and other accessories started to come from online customers.

"It just felt like the right time to take the leap and make the jump," she said.

Dedin closed down her storefront March 25, though she said she'll still be at Red River Market and other community events to sell her products.

She'll still make the same product line, but will now work out of the spare bedroom in her apartment and focus on growing her business online. She's in the process of revamping her website to make online ordering easier, with a goal of having a more efficient online presence.

"I'm just ready for something new," she said.
