FARGO—A sports card shop will open soon in a new location in downtown Fargo.

Cardboard Kings will open at 10 a.m. Monday, July 10, at 512 Broadway, taking the place of the former studio space that was used by McNeal and Friends, which is still open down the street at 506 Broadway.

Cardboard Kings opened for business in March 2016 at 200 5th St. S.in Moorhead. Owner and operator Jeremy Hulderman said he closed that location at the end of March as he prepared to move to a new spot, but that lease fell through, meaning he stayed closed for longer than first expected.

The wait was worth it in the end, according to Hulderman.

"I actually ended up with a better space," he said.

Hulderman said he decided to relocate to downtown Fargo because the leased space where he's moving will give him 880 square feet of useable space, about double the room he had in Moorhead.

"And the location itself, I'm in a high-traffic area now on Broadway and that's kind of the happening place in Fargo," he said.

Cardboard Kings will have more room for products in its new storefront, including a larger selection of Carson Wentz cards. The store will be open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
