Twin Cities brand plans to open restaurant in south Fargo development
FARGO—A new restaurant hailing from Minnesota's Twin Cities will open next year at south Fargo's women-centric BLU Water Creek development.
Twin Cities-based ownership group Hemisphere Restaurant Partners announced Thursday, Nov. 2, that initial groundwork will start up this year and construction will launch in March on a new standalone building that will house The Tavern Grill, which is tentatively expected to open in the fall of 2018.
The brand already has four locations in Minnesota, with restaurants in Arden Hills, Blaine, Edina and Woodbury. This will be its first restaurant outside of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
"We are always looking for new areas to expand the brand into and Fargo has been on the top of the list for some time," Chief Operations Officer Tim Cary said in a written statement.
A news release described The Tavern Grill as an "upscale, scratch kitchen concept" with more than 60 "chef-built" menu items, including steak, fish, gourmet burgers, pastas, pizzas, salads and more in addition to a full bar with specialty cocktails, beer and wine.
Initial plans filed with the city of Fargo in recent weeks say the restaurant will be built at 4504 32nd Ave. S. An online real estate listing shows that address is on the southwest corner of 45th Street South and 32nd Avenue South.
Hair Success Salon & Day Spa is nearing completion of its new facility just south of there, followed to the south by multi-tenant building The Shoppes at BLU Water Creek, 3265 45th St. S., and A Cutting Edge Gallery of Jewelry, 4507 33rd Ave. S.
Rejuv Medical Aesthetic Clinic also operates nearby at 3301 45th St. S., while a new Custom Express Car Wash, 4682 32nd Ave. S., is now under construction on the western edge of the development.
