Melvin Arnold Hubrig

Melvin Hubrig was born June 8, 1929 to Ernst and Hilda (Krause) Hubrig. He attended Waldo No. 2 School in Waldo Township. He married Doris Cossette on June 6, 1951. Melvin worked for over 30 years at Hoppert's Plumbing and Heating. In 1977, he began his own business, Hubrig Plumbing and Heating, with his son Glenn.

Melvin was a lifelong devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, ND where he served on various boards. He also served as a member of the Hankinson School Board, the Wahpeton Vocational Center Board, and served Waldo Township in various positions.

Melvin is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris Hubrig; his children: Glenn (Cheryl) Hubrig, Gary (Kari) Hubrig, Ron (Gloria) Hubrig, Dianne (Jim) Sedler, Doreen (Leon) Bladow, Cheryl (Allen) Held, Steve (Lori) Hubrig, Brenda (Scott) Radloff, Renae (Mark) Bassingthwaite, and Debra (Kevin) Mauch; 29 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. He is also survived by his siblings: Arlene (Edwin) Arndt, Bruce (Connie) Hubrig, Curtis (Sandy) Hubrig, and Bonnie Hubrig; sisters-in-law: Dixie F. Hubrig and Judy Lind; and brother-in-law Raymond (Deb) Cossette. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Stacy, his granddaughter Brooke Bassingthwaite, brothers Wayne and Vernon, and brothers-in-law Loren Lind, Daniel Kutter, and Edward Cossette.

Visitation will be Monday, August 14, 2017 from 4-7pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, ND. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 9:30 am followed by the funeral service at 10:30 am all at the church. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Great Bend, ND.
