Letter: Story about woman flushing gerbil reflects the toilet bowl our culture has become
Saturday's story about the gerbil flushed down the drain is a damning commentary on the shipwreck that our culture has become. We have now come to accept the premise that a 21-year-old woman is just a child, and that a gnawing rodent is her legitimate soulmate.
What would Sacagawea, Harriet Tubman, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Florence Nightingale or "Rosie-the-Riveter" have to say about that? God help us all.
