Letter: 'Farewell' and 'thank you' to the people of Fargo-Moorhead
When we were about to move to the Fargo-Moorhead community some 11 years ago, a colleague of mine opined, "no one should be permitted to live north of Omaha." Little did he know that the people here were what made it warm, notwithstanding the state of or weather of winter. Now we are leaving this wonderful community in early May. Bruce is retiring from his position with Concordia College and JoAnne is leaving the Red River Valley Asperger Autism Network. We are returning to the St. Louis area, our prior home of 30 years.
We leave with memories replete with experiences of warmth; of amazing service; of caring; of supporting.
Likewise, we will share stories of the arts: of music; of theatre; memories of the robust and meaningful higher education communities that thrive here; so many memories of endless kindnesses; memories of so many good works.
So, we say a sincere "Thank you" and "Best of Everything" to the people of Fargo-Moorhead. Yours is a community simply full of servant leaders.
Bruce and JoAnne Vieweg live in Fargo.
