Former Moorhead High, UND player VandeVelde re-ups with Philadelphia Flyers

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Flyers re-signed forward Chris VandeVelde on Friday to a one-year contract.

No financial details of the

two-way deal were released by the team.

In 18 games with the Flyers last season, VandeVelde had one assist. With the Flyers’ Adirondack AHL affiliate, he had 10 goals and 24 points in 41 games.

VandeVelde, who played at Moorhead High School and the University of North Dakota, was with the Edmonton Oilers’ organization before coming to Philadelphia last December. In three call-ups to the Oilers from the AHL, the 27-year-old totaled one goal, three points and 18 penalty minutes in 28 games.
