RedHawks lose; fall into a tie in wild card race
FARGO—The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks suffered a 7-1 loss to Lincoln Tuesday at Newman Outdoor Field and lost its lead for the wild card spot for the American Association baseball playoffs.
With six regular-season games remaining, the RedHawks are tied for the wild card spot with Kansas City—which was a 5-4 winner over Sioux City Tuesday. Gary, which lost at Sioux Falls 8-1 Tuesday, sits one game behind the RedHawks and Kansas City in the wild card race.
Lincoln pitcher Bennett Parry limited the RedHawks to four hits and struck out eight batters in eight innings of work. Juan Martinez hit a two-run homer in three-run third inning for Lincoln while Randolph Oduber hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning.
