Cobbers volleyball splits two matches to open season

ST. PAUL, Minn.—Concordia split two matches Friday, Sept. 1, at the Kathryne Pals Legacy Tournament in college volleyball. St. Scholastica (Minn.) earned a 21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-13 victory against the Cobbers. Concordia rebounded with a 23-25, 18-25, 25-21, 28-26, 15-6 victory against Buena Vista (Iowa).

Junior outside hitter Haley Cuppett led the Cobbers with 15 kills against Buena Vista. Sophomore middle hitter Brianna Carney added 13 kills.

Cuppett and Carney had 10 kills apiece against St. Scholastica.

The Cobbers (1-1) are scheduled to play Loras (Iowa) and Northwestern (Minn.) on Saturday, Sept. 2, on the second day of the tournament.
