Bemidji tops Dragon men with last-second shot

MOORHEAD—Derek Thompson hit a layup with one second remaining to give Bemidji State an 82-81 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference men's basketball win over Minnesota State Moorhead Saturday at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse.

Thompson led Bemidji State, 5-5 overall and 2-3 in the NSIC, with 20 points. Shari Black added 18 points and Jai'Vionne Green added 14 points for Bemidji State.

MSUM, which falls to 4-6 overall and 2-2 in the NSIC, was led by Johnny Beeninga who had 19 points. Addison Park scored 18 points making 8 of 10 field goals for the Dragons while Evan Hines had 15 points and Tanners Kretchman added 11 points.
