NDSU's Ream, Fogarty finish second at Big 12 wrestling
TULSA, Okla.—North Dakota State's 157 pounder Clay Ream and 165-pounder Andrew Fogarty recorded runner-up finishes at the Big 12 Wrestling Championships Sunday at the BOK Center.
NDSU's Cam Sykora (133) and Dan Stibral (285) each placed fifth while Paul Bianchi (125) placed seventh. Ream, Fogarty, Sykora and Sykora each earned automatic qualifiers to the NCAA tournament to be held March 15-17 in Cleveland.
Ream, a redshirt senior from Wentzville, Mo., fell 4-3 to Wyoming's Archie Colgan in the 157-pound title match. Ream (23-4) was runner-up for the second straight season.
Fogarty, a redshirt sophomore from Jordan, Minn., fell 12-9 in his 165-pound match to Oklahoma State's Chandler Rogers. Fogarty (29-10) improved on his sixth place finish in 2017.
