Heitkamp fires campaign staffer amid ad fallout

RedHawks top first-place St. Paul in series finale

ST. PAUL—The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks used a four-run first inning to breeze past the St. Paul Saints 7-1 Wednesday in American Association baseball at CHS Field.

Maikol Gonzalez hit a two-run home run in the top of the first to lead the RedHawks' charge. Later in the inning, Leobaldo Pina added a solo homer, his first of the season.

Sebastian Kessay (2-1) picked up the win for F-M (12-13). He pitched 6⅔ innings, giving up one earned run on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts.

After winning two-of-three against the first-place Saints, the RedHawks will return home Friday for a three-game series against Kansas City.
