Colwell extends hitting streak, RedHawks beat Chicago

FARGO—The RedHawks edged Chicago 4-3 Monday in American Association baseball at Newman Outdoor Field in front of 3,633 fans.

Keury De La Cruz blasted his 11th home run of the season for Fargo-Moorhead, while Charlie Valerio and Yhoxian Medina each drove in a run.

Tim Colwell went 2-for-4 with a run scored, pushing his hitting streak to 17 games. He has a .355 batting average this season, which is fourth-best in the American Association.

Brandon Barker gave up three earned runs on five hits with two walks and six strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in a no-decision for the RedHawks.

F-M (42-31) takes on Chicago at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Newman Outdoor Field.
