Irey belts first professional home run to help RedHawks end losing streak
SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks overcame a three-run deficit to defeat the Sioux Falls Canaries 6-4 Sunday in American Association baseball at Sioux Falls Stadium before 2,511 fans.
F-M plated four runs in the seventh inning capped by Quinn Irey's two-run homer, the first of his professional career. That home run gave the RedHawks a 5-4 lead.
Yhoxian Medina went 3-for-4 with double, an RBI and a run scored for F-M, while Leo Pina added his eighth home run this season.
RedHawks starter Trey McNutt gave up four earned runs on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts through 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision.
The RedHawks (43-36) snapped their five-game losing streak.
