RedHawks sweep doubleheader against Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Kan.—Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks starter Will Solomon tossed a seven-inning shutout to help lead his team to a doubleheader sweep against the Kansas City T-Bones on Wednesday in American Association baseball at T-Bones Stadium.
Solomon threw a three-hitter in a 3-0 victory in the second game. The RedHawks earned a 5-4 victory in 10 innings in the first game.
Solomon struck out two batters and walked none as the RedHawks (45-36) extended their winning streak to three games. Yhoxian Medina went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead F-M at the plate in Game 2.
Chris Jacobs paced the RedHawks in Game 1, going 3-for-5 with an RBI. The game was scheduled for seven innings. Leo Pina scored the winning run in the 10th inning on a wild pitch and ensuing throwing by the Kansas City catcher to try to get Pina at third base.
The RedHawks are one game out of first place in the North Division behind the St. Paul Saints and the Gary SouthShore RailCats.
