Dragons ranked third in first Division II Central Region rankings
INDIANAPOLIS—Minnesota State Moorhead is ranked third in the Central Region in the first NCAA Division II women's basketball regional rankings, which were released Wednesday, Feb. 14.
The Dragons (21-3) have won 15 consecutive games and are one of four Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference teams ranked in the top 10 in the region. Augustana (21-2) is ranked fourth, Northern State (21-4) is ranked fifth and Wayne State (20-6) is ranked No. 10.
Southwestern Oklahoma State (22-1) is ranked No.1 in the region, while Central Missouri State (21-3) is ranked second. The top eight teams (counting automatic bids from three conference tournament winners) in the region advance to the Division II tournament, which starts on March 9.
