Former Bison standout Smock wins USA Track triple jump
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – North Dakota State graduate Amanda Smock won the triple jump at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships on Thursday.
Smock won with a mark of 45 feet, 2¼ inches to take first by eight inches.
Oregon’s Laura Roesler ran the fastest preliminary time in the women’s 800 meters. The Fargo native finished in 2 minutes, 1.64 seconds, just ahead of Molly Beckwith’s 2:01.81. Roesler moves on to today’s semifinals.
NDSU freshman Rose Jackson finished in fourth place in the heptathlon with a personal-best 5,025 points.
