FARGO - Fans of NDSU came out to Scheels in Fargo Thursday to show support for the Bison at the NDSU Block Party.

The first 600 people received yard signs and slices of pizza were served by Deeks Pizza. The Front Fenders and the Gold Star Marching band performed music before NDSU head football coach Chris Kliemen, NDSU president Dean Bresciani, and NDSU athletic director Matt Larsen spoke to the crowd.

Bresciani said NDSU has a tailgating environment that in the most recent national rankings is number four in the nation. "Including power five conferences, Go Bison"  NDSU President Dean Bresciani said.

Head Coach Chris Kliemen told the crowd to give themselves applause for making the Fargodome as loud as it is every Saturday. Kliemen challenged the crowd to cause NDSU opponent Cal Poly to get four false starts.

"Can we do that Bison nation?" Klieman asked.

The Bison open the season Sept. 1 at 2:30 p.m. at the Fargodome against Cal Poly.
