Fehl steps down as MSUM's softball coach

MOORHEAD—Kelsey Fehl, Minnesota State Moorhead's softball coach since 2011, has resigned to pursue a career as a school counselor

Fehl was an assistant coach from 2008-10 before her head coaching duties from 2011-18.

A native of Willmar, Minn., Fehl was named the MSUM interim head coach in 2011 before being named to the permanent position in 2012. She took over the program as interim coach under challenging circumstances shortly prior to the 2011 season. She was promoted to permanent head coach in 2012.

Fehl was a four-year starter for the Dragon softball team from 2004-07. An honorable mention All-NSIC selection as a senior, Fehl closed a prosperous collegiate career with a .333 batting average in 53 games in 2007. She ranked third on the club in RBI (23) and fourth in base hits (49).
