Grace Steichen and Shelby Mullikin each added eight kills for DGF. Jenna Porter and Kylie Solhiem each registered nine digs in the loss for Crookston. Macy Strem added 11 assists for Crookston.

FARGO—The FM United Soccer Club, a non-profit organization founded in January, will officially launch August 2016 for the 2016-17 soccer season. The club's mission is to serve the community by providing holistic player development through technical advancement, character building and community involvement. It will also provide competitive travel youth programs. Tryouts for the upcoming season will be held in July. The FM United Soccer Club's board of directors is formed by Joe Larson, Troy Cody, David Pritchard, Andres Nunez, Paul Wraalstad and Todd Zimmerman.
FARGO—Forum sportswriter Jeff Kolpack has been named the North Dakota Sportscasters and Sportwriters Association sportswriter of the year. Kolpack, a Fargo South High School graduate, has been working at The Forum since 1990. He has been covering North Dakota State athletics for the past 20 years. Prior to The Forum, Kolpack worked at the Jamestown Sun and the Bismarck Tribune. Kolpack is the third member of his family to win the award. His father, Ed, won it in 1967 and his brother Dave, was a five-time winner in the 1980s and 1990s.
