DEVILS LAKE, N.D. — The name was released in a fatal crash that occurred at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21. The victim,. initially reported as a 49-year-old man, was actually 59-year-old Gary Oram of Devils Lake. He died after his truck that was transporting cattle in a trailer crashed on State Highway 20 about three miles south of Devils Lake, N.D. He was traveling north in his 2018 Chevrolet Silverado when he veered off the right edge of the roadway. Oram was transported to St. Alexius Hospital in Devils Lakes where he later died.
SARTELL, Minn. — Lauren Hodny scored three goals for Moorhead in the Spuds' 5-3 overtime victory against Sartell on Saturday in Minnesota girls soccer. Olivia Watson and Kylie Englund each scored a goal in overtime and each recorded an assist. Lianna Ulness and Maria Zanotti each added one assist. Goalie Grace Hanson tallied one save. The Spuds improved to 9-2 overall.
MOORHEAD — Adam King scored the game's lone goal to lift Hamline to a 1-0 victory over Concordia on Saturday in Minnesota Intercollegiate Conference men's soccer. Tyson Aberle had the Cobbers' lone shot on goal. Goalie Jackson Carr recorded two saves. Concordia fell to 3-5 overall, 0-3 in the MIAC.
MOORHEAD — Concordia shut out Hamline 3-0 Saturday in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer at Jake Christiansen Athletic Complex. Halle Jordan scored first for the Cobbers on an assist from Kay Franzese. Abby Westbee and Klara Beinhorn each scored an unassisted goal in the second half. Goalie Maddy Reed had three saves for Concordia (4-3, 1-2 MIAC).
ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Minnesota State Moorhead compiled 17 blocks as the Dragons edged St. Cloud State 22-25, 25-23, 26-24, 27-25 Saturday in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference volleyball. Amanda Carlson led the Dragons with 19 kills, adding five blocks. Kaylyn Jenkins had nine blocks, while Kylie Kanwischer tallied seven. Lauren Kiewiet recorded 26 assists, while Monica Vega had 37 digs. MSUM rose to 9-5 overall, 5-2 in the NSIC.
MOORHEAD — Moorhead scored both goals in the second half to defeat Sartell 2-0 Saturday in boys high school soccer. Mohmud Adan scored for the Spuds on an assist from Yousif Alshimani, and Alhasan Alomar netted an unassisted goal. The Spuds improved to 7-4-1 overall.
FARGO — Maya Krause led Fargo South with 17 kills and 21 assists en route to a 23-25, 28-26, 25-20, 25-18 win against Fargo North Saturday in Eastern Dakota Conference volleyball. Emily Jackson had 22 assists for the Bruins and Ally Rheault had 19 digs. Kaylee Lebo paced North with 12 kills, while Emily Skalicky had two aces and 15 assists. Rose Soori added 21 digs.
