ALEXANDRIA, Minn. - One person was missing after a fire broke out early Monday, Jan. 15, at a residence near downtown Alexandria. The Alexandria Fire Department was called to 410 Fillmore Street just before 5:30 a.m., the Alexandria Police Department said in a news release. Firefightersfrom Alexandria and neighboring towns were still working in subzero temperatures hours later to contain the fire. The building has multiple apartments and most of the residents were able to escape.
