FARGO — The economic impact of continued Red River flooding could reach beyond the Fargo-Moorhead area. FARGO – Technology is great, but the more gadgets I get, the more cords I have to plug in. Living in an older home with few outlets also means power strips full of plugs. “Does this one go to the lamp or my iPad?” I ask myself more than once a week.
This crisp, dry winter air doesn’t do much for hair or skin, but clothes – especially hemlines – are another casualty. Static invades along with Jack Frost, and I’m always looking for ways to fight it without a spray or chemical (I’m looking at you, dryer sheets). This tip from bloggers TheMamaGirls.com works great on skirts and pant hems that ride up while wearing tights or trouser socks. Simply attach a safety pin to the inside of your hem or cuff.

Cotton coil is the long strips hairstylists use when perming or coloring hair to keep chemicals from dripping onto a client’s face. I picked up a big box of it at Sally Beauty Supply, 1630 13th Ave. E., West Fargo, for less than $10.
