Rachel Bickford and Shawn MacNevin, Manhattan, Kan., announce their engagement.
Parents are Joel and Vicki Bickford, Bottineau, N.D.; and James and Jacqui MacNevin, Strafford, N.H.
Rachel graduated in 2006 from Fargo South High School and in 2011 she graduated from Jamestown (N.D.) College with a bachelor's degree in English education. She is an English teacher at Rossville (Kan.) Junior High School. She is also a first lieutenant in the Army National Guard where she has served since 2006.
Shawn graduated in 2007 from Spaulding High School, Rochester, N.H., and in 2011 he graduated from the University of New Hampshire, Durham, with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology pedagogy. He has served with the U.S. Army since 2011 and is currently at first lieutenant at Fort Riley, Kan.
A Sept. 28 wedding is planned at Metigoshe Ministries Christian Center, followed by a reception at the Birchwood Steakhouse and Lounge, both in Bottineau.
