Bison edge rival Jackrabbits for baseball victory

FARGO — North Dakota State edged rival South Dakota State 3-2 in Summit League baseball Thursday night at Newman Outdoor Field.

Bison starter Max Loven (4-2) surrendered two runs on five hits with three walks and nine strikeouts through seven strong innings to earn the win. Jordan Harms picked up his third save, striking out two over two innings of work.

Bennett Hostetler, Brock Anderson and Jake Malec each drove in a run to pace the Bison offense.

NDSU (19-22, 15-13 SL) is scheduled to face the Jackrabbits (25-20, 17-10) in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Friday to conclude both the three-game series and the regular season.
