TULSA, Okla.-Blake Stockert threw a complete-game one-hitter to lift North Dakota State to a 2-0 win over Western Illinois Wednesday in the opening round of the Summit League baseball tournament.

Stockert, a senior lefthander from Alexandria, Minn., walked only three batters and struck out five.

The Bison scored one run in the fifth when Carter Thompson scored on Matt Elsenpeter's sacrifice fly. The Bison added their second run in the sixth inning when Thompson's single scored Mason Pierzchalski. Thompson had two of NDSU's five hits.

The Bison, 26-22 overall, advance to Thursday's 6 p.m. semifinal game against either No. 4-seed South Dakota State or No. 1-seed Oral Roberts.
