LAWRENCE, Kansas — Kansas scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and went on to defeat North Dakota State 10-2 on Saturday in the second game of the three-game series.

NDSU's Jake Malec had a pair of hits — his 19th multi-hit game of the season — and he scored two runs. Peter Brookshaw, Noah Dehne, Tucker Rohde, Charley Hesse and Will Busch all had hits.

NDSU dropped to 27-13 overall while the Jayhawks improved to 24-20. The rubber match is noon Sunday, May 2, in Lawrence.
