FARGO — Omaha broke through with runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings and defeated North Dakota State 5-4 on Sunday, ending the Bison's win streak at five.

The Bison led 3-1 after five, with Bennett Hostetler accounting for all three runs. He doubled in a run in the first and later scored on a wild pitch, and his sacrifice fly in the third brought home another run.

But Omaha's Ryan Doran tied the game with a two-run double in the sixth, the Mavericks took the lead on a bases-loaded walk in the seventh and Keil Krumwiede singled in a run in the eighth. Hostetler homered in the bottom of the eighth to make it a one-run game, but the Bison couldn't bring a baserunner around in the ninth.

Hostetler was 2-for-3 with the three RBI and Peter Brookshaw was 2-for-4. Wyatt Nelson took the loss in relief.

The Bison are 17-10 in the Summit League, 32-14 overall and they play Concordia at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 10, at Newman Outdoor Field.
