FARGO — North Dakota State will host a “Light it Up for Landon Night” on Wednesday, Oct. 30, in conjunction with the NDSU men’s basketball season-opening exhibition game.
The event will honor Landon Solberg and his family for their positive impact on the Bison basketball program, the Fargo-Moorhead community, and the surrounding area, while Landon battled brain cancer for nearly two years. Landon passed away last month at 12 years old.
The Bison men host Dickinson State on Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. inside the Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletics Complex.
“Landon epitomizes everything we want to be about,” said NDSU head coach David Richman. “His positive attitude, determination, and his desire to always put others before himself — those are traits we should all be striving for. Landon made such a positive impact on our program and on our community, so it’s only right that we honor and celebrate him.”
For each person in attendance at the game, Gate City Bank will donate $1 to directly support the pediatric oncology department at Roger Maris Cancer Center. Sanford will give away 500 free “In This Together” t-shirts to fans at the door.
Specially priced $6 tickets are available online only at GoBison.com/Tickets with the promo code “Light”. The ticket offer begins at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, and lasts until Friday, Oct. 25.
