FARGO — North Dakota State freshman quarterback Trey Lance was one of 24 players named to the STATS FCS Jerry Rice Award "Watch List" on Tuesday, an honor that goes to the top newcomer in DIvision I FCS football.

Lance has completed 109 of 159 passes for 1,479 yards, 19 touchdowns and no interceptions. He set a school record last week attempting 160 passes without an interception breaking the mark of 152 set by Easton Stick. Lance also leads NDSU in rushing with 595 yards on 88 carries and eight touchdowns.

Statistically, Lance is second in the FCS in passing efficiency (186.1), fourth in completion percentage (69 percent) and ninth in poinst responsible (162) through nine games. Lance is the second Bison player to ever be nominated for the award joining teammate Jabril Cox, who finished sixth in the 2017 voting.
