FARGO — Fresh off its 37-13 second-round win over Nicholls State, North Dakota State’s football team found out Saturday night that it will play its next game in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 14 on ESPN.
The Bison, unbeaten and the top seed in the playoffs, will host fellow Missouri Valley Football Conference foe Illinois State in a quarterfinal game to be played at Gate City Bank Field in the Fargodome. The Bison claimed a 37-3 win at Illinois State on Oct. 5.
Illinois State has since won seven of its last nine games, including its 24-14 second-round win at Central Arkansas on Saturday.
In a late playoff game on Saturday, Austin Peay upset No. 4 seed Sacramento State, 42-28.
