FRISCO, TX -- When the FCS Championship kicks off Saturday morning, it will be hard to miss Christian Watson and it has nothing to do with his 6'3 frame.
The Tampa, Florida native has become one of the most electric players in FCS football this season.
"It's been outstanding, been really fun this season." Watson said.
Fun is the perfect word to describe the season Christian Watson has had. He's become a human highlight reel, from his ability to leap over defenders to his breakaway speed. He's even made a believer out of the supposed fastest man on the team.
"Christian is fast, I ain't see nothing like that, nice to see him healthy get out in space, we knew he was capable but hasn't been healthy enough to show , he's still young that's the scary part." said senior running back Ty Brooks.
"I think this summer, he got to be 100 percent, his level of focus picked up when I was on visits here, his athleticism is something we knew on our end. " redshirt freshman quarterback Trey Lance said.
There's been plenty of big moments for fans to cheer at Watson, but one sticks out more than any.
"My first touchdown, it had a been a while since I've been in the endzone, get chirped about it, cause it was almost wasn't a touchdown (against Illinois State), it still brings a smile to my face." Watson said.
After two years of battling the injury bug, Watson knows he's a marked man Saturday in the biggest game of his career.
"There's pressure, not any one letting getting to us, go 1-0 in, do enough to focus on the details, lock in and get the offense together, think we'll be good." Watson said.
North Dakota State faces James Madison at 11 am Saturday.
