FARGO — North Dakota State opened their Missouri Valley Football Conference spring schedule Sunday, Feb. 21, against Youngstown State at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome.
Bison sophomore running back Kobe Johnson had a 15-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to help his team build an 11-0 halftime lead. NDSU gained 140 yards in the first half, while limiting the Penguins to 41 yards. NDSU running back Seth Wilson left the game early with an lower-leg injury and did not return.
NDSU quarterback Zeb Noland completed 6 of 13 passes for 53 yards over the first 30 minutes. Noland was making his first career start with the Bison, replacing Trey Lance.
