FARGO — Waverly (Neb.) High School's Trevor Brown has committed to North Dakota State for the 2022 football recruiting class, Brown announced Friday, Oct. 15, via Twitter.

The 6-foot-2, 275-pound Brown plays on both the offense and defensive lines for Waverly where he has been an all-state performer.

Brown is the third commitment the Bison have received in October. Rapid City (S.D.) Stevens High School's Ben Goldy committed to NDSU on Wednesday, Oct. 13. The 6-foot-8, 295-pound Goldy is projected to play on the offensive line for the Bison. Union Grove (Wis.) High School's Luke Kokat committed to NDSU on Tuesday, Oct. 12. Kokat is a preferred walkon and also had offers from Minnesota State Moorhead, Northern State and the University of Sioux Falls.

The Bison have 28 known commitments in the class, which received its first commitments in late June.

Moorhead Spuds linebacker Austin Altepeter and Brainerd Warriors linebacker Nathaniel Staehling both announced their verbal commitments to the Bison on June 23 via Twitter. Those were the first two commitments in the class that leaned on defense early.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Altepeter said NDSU "felt like family" when he visited. During his junior season with the Spuds, he had 76 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions, helping Moorhead to a 7-0 record in a COVID-shortened fall season.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Staehling also played quarterback for Brainerd his junior season, completing 20 of 50 passes for 164 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 175 yards and three TDs on 47 carries.

"Playing college football has been a dream of mine and I am grateful for the opportunity to do so," Staehling wrote on his Twitter account.

Union Grove (Wis.) High School's Luke Kokat committed to the Bison on Oct. 12. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Kokat plays tight end and defensive end for Union Grove. He is a preferred walkon for NDSU.

Rosemount (Minn.) High School's Cedric Wall committed to NDSU on Sept. 23. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Wall plays wide receiver for the Irish.

West Fargo High School's Carson Hegerle committed to the Bison on Sept. 22. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Hegerle plays wide receiver and defensive back for the Packers.

Hortonville (Wis.) High School's Drew Klein committed to NDSU on Sept. 21. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Klein is ranked as the No. 34 kicker in the 2022 recruiting class, according Kohl's kicking camps rankings.

Shakopee (Minn.) High School's Josh Magin committed to the Bison on Sept. 14. The 6-foot-6, 235-pound Magin is an outside linebacker/defensive end prospect who also had an offer from St. Thomas. Magin is a preferred walkon for NDSU.

Badger (Wis.) High School's Kegan Huber committed to NDSU on Sept. 12. The 6-foot, 175-pound Huber plays quarterback and defensive back for Badger. He is projected to play defensive back for the Bison.

Mankato (Minn.) West High School's Mekhi Collins verbally committed to the Bison on Aug. 29. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound wide receiver had multiple FBS offers, including Kansas State and Iowa State. He also had FCS offers from South Dakota State and Northern Iowa.

Bemidji (Minn.) High School's Jacob Kelly committed to NDSU on Aug 18. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Kelly plays wide receiver and defensive back for the Lumberjacks.

Fairmount (Minn.) High School's Hudson Artz committed for the Bison on Aug. 12. The 6-foot, 180-pound Artz is projected to play defense back for NDSU, and also had an offer from the University of St. Thomas. Artz is a preferred walkon for NDSU.

Champlin Park (Minn.) High School's Darius Givance committed to NDSU on Aug. 5. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Givance is projected to play defensive back for the Bison. He also had an offer from South Dakota State.

Mulvane (Wis.) High School's Mason Ellis committed to the Bison on Aug. 2. The 6-foot-2, 183-pound Ellis is projected to play defensive back for NDSU. He also had an FCS offer from South Dakota State.

Bay Port (Wis.) High School's Nate Forystek committed to NDSU on July 31. The 6-foot-7, 240-pound Forystek plays tight end, wide receiver and defensive end for Bay Port. He projects to play tight end of the Bison. Forystek also had an offer from Illinois State.

Burnsville (Minn.) High School's Mateo Noriega committed to the Bison on July 22. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound Noriega is projected to play on the offensive line for the Bison and also had an offer from the University of North Dakota.

Slinger (Wis.) High School's Ashton Beers committed to NDSU on July 22. The 6-foot-6, 295-pound offensive lineman prospect had multiple FBS and FCS offers before deciding on the Bison.

St. Charles (Ill.) East High School's Nathan Hayes committed to the Bison on July 19. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Hayes plays quarterback and also had offers from Eastern Illinois and Indiana State.

Notre Dame Academy's Max Rader committed to NDSU on July 7. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound Rader plays on the offensive and defensive line for NDA. He also had offers from South Dakota State, Northern Iowa, Eastern Michigan, Yale and Eastern Illinois.

Barnesville (Minn.) High School's Kaden Zenzen committed to the Bison on July 6. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Zenzen plays tight end and defensive end for Barnesville.

Hatton-Northwood's (N.D.) Kelby Azure committed to the NDSU on July 6. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Azure plays multiple positions for the Thunder, including offensive and defensive line. He's projected to play tight end for the Bison. Azure had multiple Division I FCS offers.

Faribault (Minn.) High School's Devin Lockerby committed to the Bison on July 2. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Lockerby plays offensive and defensive line for the Falcons. Lockerby also had offers from South Dakota, St. Thomas and North Dakota.

St. Charles (Ill.) East High School's Kelton McCaslin committed to the Bison on July 1. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound McCaslin plays wide receiver and defensive end for St. Charles East. McCaslin is projected to play defensive end for the Bison.

East Ridge (Minn.) High School's Toby Anene committed to NDSU on July 1. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Anene is projected to play defense end for the Bison.

East Ridge (Minn.) High School's Logan Larson committed to the Bison on June 29. The 6-foot-3, 260 pound Larson plays on both the offensive and defensive lines for East Ridge,

Velva (N.D.) High School's Kaden Chadwick committed to NDSU on June 28. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound Chadwick plays on both the offensive and defensive lines for the Aggies. Chadwick is an all-state offensive lineman.

Grand Rapids (Minn.) High School's Andy Thomsen committed to the Bison on June 28. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Thomsen plays quarterback and linebacker for the Thunderhawks. He is projected to play defensive end at NDSU.

Brainerd linebacker Nathaniel Staehling committed to the Bison on June 23. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Staehling also had a preferred walk-on offer from the University of Minnesota.
