FARGO — East Ridge (Minn.) High School defensive lineman Logan Larson said it didn’t take long for him to decide that North Dakota State was where he wanted to continue his football career after high school.
“It was a pretty easy decision for me.” Larson said. “I knew it was a place I wanted to be.”
The 6-foot-3, 260-pound Larson verbally committed to the Bison earlier this week for the 2022 recruiting class. Larson participated in NDSU’s camp this past weekend. He made his first visit in early June.
“When I first went up there it was a great experience with all the coaches and the coaching staff,” Larson said. “I just knew I wanted to be there. I loved NDSU (from) the first time I visited.”
Larson said he had received interest from other Missouri Valley Football Conference programs and some Power Five schools before he decided on NDSU. Larson said he attended nearly 10 football camps this June, including NDSU's camp.
A Minnesota Class 6A program, East Ridge posted a 4-2 record last fall during Larson’s junior season. He wanted to make his college decision before his final prep season.
“I definitely wanted to take care of it before the season.” Larson said. “I wanted to focus on my team and how we’re going to handle it this season.”
Larson played both defensive end and defensive tackle for the Raptors, but he projects to play defensive tackle at NDSU. He announced his commitment soon after he received his offer from the Bison.
“After I got offered, I knew I wanted to go there,” Larson said. “I’m excited about the defense. They move around quite a bit, fly around the ball. It’s a winning program and winning is always the best, too.”
Larson was the fifth known verbal commitment for NDSU’s 2022 class when he announced his commitment to the Bison.
