NEWTON, Kan. — North Dakota State men’s golf team is tied for second place with Denver following the opening day of the Summit League Championship on Saturday.
Denver and the Bison both finished at 294, just one shot behind leader Oral Roberts. Oral Roberts' Jackson Howes and Omaha’s Mathew Halvorson both shot three-under 69 to share the lead in the individual competition.
Bison freshman Brock Winter is fourth with a 71. Winter had five birdies, including three on the back nine. Freshman Nate Adams is tied for fifth at 72. Adams also recorded five birdies in the opening round. Junior Nate Deziel is tied for 10th with a 74. Deziel recorded an eagle on the 16th hole and had three birdies in the opening round.
NDSU will tee-off for the second round at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, May 2, at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.
