VERMILLION, S.D. — South Dakota won big in the first two sets, then edged North Dakota State in the third set to complete a sweep of the Bison on Monday.

The Coyotes won 25-14, 25-16, 25-23. South Dakota improved to 5-1 in the Summit League and 6-4 overall. NDSU fell to 4-4 in the league and 6-4 overall.

The Bison dropped their second match after running off four straight wins. They play a pair of matches against Western Illinois on March 5-6 in Fargo.

On Monday, NDSU's Ali Hinze had 12 kills but no other Bison player had more than Allie Mauch's six. Kelley Johnson had 27 set assists.
