Bison volleyball team upends North Dakota in three sets

North Dakota State's attack got better offensively as the match went on and defeated the Fighting Hawks on their court.


GRAND FORKS — North Dakota State tuned up its net game as the match wore on and defeated North Dakota 25-21, 25-20, 25-23 in a Summit League matchup on Saturday.

The Bison made eight attacking errors in the first set and hit .160. In the third set, they had 19 kills and just two errors in 35 total attacks for a .486 hitting percentage.

Ali Hinze led the Bison with 15 kills and Kristin Tidd had 10 kills and three blocks. Syra Tanchin also had 10 kills. Raegen had 37 set assists and served three aces and she and Taylor Quan both had 17 digs.

North Dakota's Abi McGlynn and Ashlyn Olson both had 11 kills and Maddy Hornyak had nine kills.

The Bison are 6-10 in the Summit and 12-16 overall. They play their second-to-last regular-season game at home against South Dakota State at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18.
