Merritt Brothen and Patrick Steidl, Eden Prairie, Minn., announce their engagement.
Parents are Elair and Joyce Brothen, Fargo; and Tom and Jane Steidl, Madison, Wis.
Merritt graduated in 2003 from Fargo South High School and in 2006 graduated from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, with a bachelor's degree in public relations. She is a category analyst at Lund Food Holdings, Edina, Minn.
Patrick graduated in 2003 from Edgewood High School, Madison, and in 2007 graduated from the
U of M with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He is a business project senior analyst at Cigna, Eden Prairie.
