GRAND FORKS — The Grand Forks farmer’s market has found a new location downtown.
Chelsea Jones-Thomas, the farmer’s market manager, said that while DeMers Avenue is under construction this summer the farmer’s market will be in front of Lyon’s Auto Garage, near Central High School and City Hall.
Fourth Street will be closed from University Avenue to Second Avenue during the farmer’s markets. Vendors will be in the street and the center lot area of the Lyon’s building.
The first farmer’s market of the year will be June 15.
“All your favorite vendors from previous years as well as new ones will be there, activities for kids, food trucks, entertainment,” Jones-Thomas said. “It will be very similar to when we were in the town square, just in a new spot.”
Jones-Thomas said the farmer’s market will try to offer more educational activities for kids this summer.
In this new location, there will be ample parking on the streets and in the parking ramp on North Fourth Street.
“We are really excited to get started. We are excited we can still be outside and have that vibrant atmosphere to the farmer’s market,” Jones-Thomas said. “Come, hang out, enjoy and bring your pets. This is a really great family event to enjoy the weather this summer.”
