Executive education offered through NDSU
North Dakota State University Distance and Continuing Education is offering an executive education program to provide ongoing executive leadership development for business owners, mid-level and emerging leaders and executives.
Programming will include three segments: Business Owner Solutions Series, Leadership Excellence Advancement Program and Executive Suite.
The Business Owner Solutions segment begins Friday and will cover topics including process improvement, business development, leadership, strategic marketing and exit strategies.
Border States Electric acquires Utah company
Border States Electric, Fargo, has purchased Electrical Wholesale Supply of Utah, a 50-year-old family business with headquarters in Salt Lake City and eight branch locations throughout Utah.
EWS employees will join the Border States employee stock ownership plan and become employee-owners.
The company name will change to Electrical Wholesale Supply of Utah, a division of Border States.
With this acquisition, Border States will have more than 1,600 employees and 63 branches in 14 states.
Office Sign Co. moves to downtown Fargo
The Office Sign Co. has moved to 310 NP Ave., Fargo. There was a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Friday.
Ryan Fritz is CEO of the company, which has 24 employees and offers a variety of signage and sign solutions that include laser- and rotary-engraved signs, awards and plaques, insert window signs, badges, ADA signage, nameplates and more.
Fritz started the business in 2008 and managed all of the customer service, production and shipping out of his basement until 2010 when the business moved to the Agassiz Square complex in Fargo.
Small business summit set Oct. 18 in Fargo
The Red River Valley Research Corridor, along with U.S. Sens. Heidi Heitkamp, John Hoeven and U.S. Rep. Kevin Cramer, will present the Small Business Innovations and Solutions Summit Oct. 18 at the Holiday Inn, Fargo.
The theme of the summit is "Where Small Businesses Meet Big Possibilities," and will bring together entrepreneurs, innovators, investors and business owners and leaders to discuss challenges, opportunities and solutions related to small-business policy and best practices.
The event is open to the public and the registration fee is $95. Students can attend for free.
